The heirs of each of the policemen martyred in the incident of Chakra Goth, Korangi would be offered Rs 2 million as compensation, Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan said on Saturday.
Wasan was talking to the media after attending the funeral prayers of the martyred policemen at the Police Headquarters in the Garden area.
Along with Inspector General of Police Wajid Ali Durrani and others, the home minister attended the funeral prayers of the policemen who had embraced martyrdom when some unidentified miscreants had opened fire on a bus carrying the elite force personnel in Chakra Goth on Friday evening.
Wasan announced that the six severely wounded police personnel would be offered Rs 200,000 each and the other injured Rs 100,000 each as compensation.
He said that besides compensation to the heirs of the martyred police personnel, their relatives would also be offered jobs.
The home minister said that a comprehensive security plan is being devised to provide protection to the people in the metropolitan.
He paid rich tributes to the policemen who were martyred and injured in the Chakra Goth incident, and laid floral wreaths on their coffins.
The bodies of the martyred police personnel would be sent to their hometowns for burial after completing legal formalities.
