The collapse of Pakistan’s economy is imminent if the economic crisis continues and the breakdown of law and order in Karachi is not controlled, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said in a press release on Saturday.
He said that the electricity shortfall in Faisalabad had increased unemployment and if the continuing gang warfare in Karachi, the economic hub of the country, was not controlled, an economic collapse would be imminent.
He also noted that the rupee-dollar parity was slipping fast.
He said that the Rs 5 trillion in loans, acquired over the last 60 years, had doubled to Rs 10 trillion since the present government came into power,” Imran Khan said in a press release. He also condemned the indirect taxes imposed by the government on the poor.
Imran declared the ouster of the current government necessary for the beginning of Pakistan’s recovery.
