Over Rs26 million goods traded across LoC

The cross-LoC businessmen traded goods worth over Rs26 million through 35 trucks between Jammu and Kashmir and Azad Kashmir along LoC at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district, district officials said.
As many as 12 trucks rolled out from Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC) at Ranger in Poonch district of J&K to AJK, they said adding these trucks carried bags of Red Chilli and embroidery items worth Rs54,87,752.
From AJK, 23 trucks carrying bags of almond, dates and herbs crossed to this side and these were worth Rs2,07,53,228.
The officials from both the side monitored the transportation of these goods at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point twice during the day from 1430 hrs to 1500 hrs and 1700 hrs to 1730 hours, respectively, they said.
With the advent of the new foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Pakistan has now resumed dialogue with India to enhance trade and commerce cooperation between the two countries. It is expected that members of a trade delegation will visit India sometime in the near future, to discuss the modalities of cooperation between the neighbouring states.
