In a press statement, Nawaz said elected representatives should evolve a strategy for saving the country’s economic lifeline from disaster and the government should be duty bound to implement the strategy. He said Karachi was not only the biggest city of Pakistan, but also its economic hub, which was being damaged since long. The PML-N chief said the situation had in Karachi had worsened to such an extent that the city was bleeding and its destruction could be disastrous for the entire country.
He said the Karachi issue was directly linked to national security, therefore it was necessary that national security institutions should take the parliament into confidence regarding their information, analysis and recommendations.
