Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in his talk with President Asif Ali Zardari expressed concern over the role of civil investigation agencies Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), a private TV channel reported.
In a telephonic talk on Friday evening, Altaf told the president that the IB and the FIA were providing misleading reports to the government regarding the MQM. The president assured the MQM chief of complete investigation into the matter.
Online news service reported that the MQM chief formally accepted Pakistan People’s Party’s invitation to rejoin the government. President Zardari officially invited the MQM to rejoin the PPP-led government at centre as well as in Sindh.
According to presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar, an important joint meeting of PPP’s federal and provincial cabinets, called by the president, was held in the presidency. The PPP meeting continued for one and half hour and later on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad also joined the meeting.
During meeting, President Zardari telephoned the MQM chief and officially asked him to rejoin the government. The president said while talking to Altaf Hussain that the criminals want to split the PPP and the MQM while the MQM chief said that they would respect every decision made for maintaining law and order.
