Despite the tall claims of the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) sanitation department, parking space outside the main entrance of Aabpara Market is being used as a waste and litter dump.The parking at the front of the market adjacent to ‘New Muzaffargarh Nehari House’ has turned into a garbage dump.
The garbage’s smell not only irks passers-by, but the heap also takes up considerable space, which creates problems for motorists who cannot park their vehicles properly. CDA Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi had directed the sanitation directorate during a briefing ceremony launched at the Convention Centre last week that extra measures should be taken to increase the public’s participation in the Anti-Littering Campaign 2011.
He directed the authorities to take action against those who did not care for their social responsibilities, violated rules and disposed of litter and solid waste at improper places.
