Awami National Party (ANP) expressing its reservations on the law and order situation in Karachi has called for a decisive operation against those responsible.
ANP Spokesman Senator Zahid Khan said his party’s demand of an army operation against the ‘terrorists’ in Karachi has been supported by all segments of society including the business community.
“We support a decisive operation against criminals irrespective of caste, creed and political affiliation” he said. Zahid Khan said all political parties whether seated inside the Sindh Assembly or outside should be taken on board for evolving a strategy to stop the killing of innocent people.
He said that ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan has convened a party’s meeting on August 28 to discuss Karachi’s fragile security situation and the party shall subsequently put forward its recommendations before the government.
“We will also discuss ANP Sindh chapter recommendations to part from the Sindh coalition government”, he added.
“There is urgent need to devise a sincere policy to save Karachi from the grip of violence. Bodies of innocent people in gunny bags are now discovered in the streets of Karachi daily. This should be intolerable to any civilized society,” he said.
