The Lahore High Court on Thursday disqualified Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid MPA Walayat Shah Khagga of PP-220 Sahiwal, declaring him ineligible to hold the seat of provincial assembly because of his fake graduation degree.
An election tribunal comprising of Justice Azmat Saeed passed the order on a petition challenging Khagga’s degree.
Nazar Fatyana, a defeated candidate from the same constituency, had filed the petition challenging the BA degree of the MPA.
The petitioner said Khagga had obtained a BA degree from Azad Jammu and Kashmir campus of Al Khair University, which was not recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
