The Lahore High Court (LHC) witnessed two incidents on Wednesday where accused persons, after rejection of bail, had tried to escape but were recaptured.
Alam Sher and Talib Hussain, accused of a robbery registered with Hafizabad police, attempted to escape from police custody but were rearrested shortly afterwards. The accused took advantage of the police’s inattention and ran away from outside the court room to the main gate of the court. Their attempt to escape was unsuccessful as the security staff and the police rearrested them and brought them within the court premises. The other incident took place when a 23-year-old murder-accused named Osama escaped from the Toba Tek Singh Police when he was being taken to the police van parked outside. The police raised the alarm to catch him and the accused was rearrested when he met a dead-end in the veranda and found no room to flee.
