The Punjab Prisons Department has made immaculate arrangements for Muslim prisoners to observe Aitekaf within jail premises on the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Punjab Prisons chief Kokab Nadeem Warraich told APP on Thursday that a record 55,237 prisoners were fasting in jails and offering regular prayers and Taraveeh in their barracks. He said that all those inmates who wanted to observe Aitkaf would be facilitated.He said the jail superintendents across the province had made special arrangements for inmates’ religious obligations. He said high-profile religious scholars had been requested to deliver special lectures in the jails. He said the minorities were also facilitated in their religious obligations.
