At least 10 suspected militants were killed and two dins were destroyed by military forces in the Central Kurram Agency on Thursday.
Official sources said the militants had attacked a vehicle with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), injuring three security personnel and destroying the vehicle. The security forces retaliated, killing ten militants and destroying two dins. The injured Jawans were admitted in a hospital where their situation was stated precarious. Officials said shelling over suspected dins of militants continued till the evening, adding that further deaths were expected.
Security forces have consistently conducted military action in the Central Kurram Agency and have taken lives of almost all militants in the area. Over 17,000 families from the area have abandoned their homes and have shifted to safer places.
