River Ravi submerges entire village in Sahiwal, hundreds left homeless

Flood played havoc in a village located along Ravi River in Sahiwal. More than six dozen houses were inundated by rising river leaving hundreds of people homeless.
According to details flash floods in Ravi caused by monsoon rains ruined the village Nathowasli of Sahiwal. More than 70 houses were completed destroyed due to flood water leaving population of hundreds of people homeless.
The homeless people including children, women and elderly people have took shelter in government school located at mound and several others have to spent nights under open sky.
The affected population said that immediate and solid steps were needed to save the other population of the village as more flash floods were feared during monsoon season.
Though Rescue 1122 and army men visited the area and rescue activities have been initiated yet the dwellers of Nathowasli have expressed their dissatisfaction over the pace of rescue work and relief activities.
