The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has requested Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani and all the four provincial chief ministers to honour the performance of the Pakistan’s under-16 team which recently won the SAFF Under-16 Championship. Pakistan junior players beat India in the final of the championship to clinch their maiden title but their performance remained in the low profile with just the PFF announcing Rs three million for the footballers.
Now the PFF has requested the federal and the provincial governments to announce a special grant of at least Rs 10 million and five million each respectively to the PFF for the U-16 team which has brought laurels to the nation by defeating arch rivals India in the final of the SAFF Championship was in Katmandu, Nepal. This encouragement will not only boost their morale but also motivate young national heroes to devote their energies for the improvement of the game.
