The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has demanded that the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Municipal Officer should take action against the land grabbers, who intend to occupy its land around the race course ground between Safoora Goth roundabout and Malir Cantt check post.
In a letter addressed to the the Anti Encroachment Cell and town police officer, the KWSB maintained that the land is its compulsory reservation and vital annexation for core main lines. The main lines laid beneath this corridor are earmarked for future expansion of the water system in the city. The KWSB demanded that the authorities should act against illegal intrusion and occupation of KWSB property on immediate basis. The water utility said that a boundary wall should be constructed to protect the land from illegal occupation.
