Unidentified robbers shot and wounded a 19-year-old man for offering resistance here on Tuesday night in the Factory Area Police precincts.
Police said the young man named Abdul Rehman was on his way home when some robbers stopped him near Anookha Sweets. They shot and injured Rehman when he offered resistance. He was moved to a nearby hospital where his condition was said to be out of danger.
Three corpses found: Meanwhile, as many as three corpses were found from various parts of the city on Tuesday. A 55-year-old man was found dead on a road near Chuburgi Chowk. Mozang Police said the deceased was a drug addict and his death could have been caused by an overdose. The body was moved to city morgue. Naulakha Police also found the body of a 35-year-old man from their precincts. Police moved the body to a morgue for autopsy. Similarly, New Anarkali Police found the corpse of a 35- year-old man from their precincts and moved it to a morgue for autopsy. Police suspected the deceased was a drug addict. None of those found dead could be identified.
Conned: In yet another incident, a man was deprived of his valuables by some unidentified swindlers in Harbanspura Police limits on Tuesday. Police said the conmen got Ehsan Fazal, 35, intoxicated and later fled with his valuables. Police said they found Ehsan lying unconscious near Harbanspura Police Station. He was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be stable. Meanwhile, valuables worth millions of rupees were reduced to ashes in three fires on Tuesday. Edhi and Rescue 1122 officials said a fire broke out in a flat situated in Boby Plaza because of short circuiting. The Rescue 1122 staff reached the spot and controlled the fire. In another incident, a fire broke out in a restaurant located on MM Alam Road, again, because of short circuit. Valuables worth thousands of rupees were gutted in the incident. Similarly a fire broke out in a plastic factory owned by Mohammad Shafi located on Bund Road. Short circuit was again cited as the reason behind the fire. The factory fire gutted valuables worth thousands of rupees. No causality or injury was reported in the incident.
Accidents: In another incident at least five people were injured when a speeding truck and a bus collided on Bund Road here on Tuesday. Edhi officials said those injured were taken to a nearby hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger. In a separate accident a 15-year-old boy, Allah Ditta, received injuries when his motorcycle collided with a sidewalk in Shahdara. Edhi officials shifted him to a nearby hospital where his condition was said to be stable.
