HBL through to semis

Habib Bank Limited (HBL) qualified for the first Cool and Cool Twenty20 Night Tournament semi-finals.
Noor ul Amin and Danish Kaneria shared three wickets each to guide HBL into the last four after a four-wicket victory over CandyLand in match 10 at DHA Sports Club (Moin Khan Academy).
Batting first, CandyLand was bowled out for 108. Opener Jahid Ali (22) and Noor Muhammad (21) were the prominent scorers for HBL.
In reply, Habib Bank sealed a place in the last four after achieving victory by four wickets with three overs to spare. After a disastrous start, when HBL slipped to 3-5, Ahmed Shehzad (26) and Owais Rehmani (23) put on 45 runs for the fourth wicket before Rehmani and Salman Qadir (16) put on 32 runs for the fifth wicket to put their side within touching distance. Umer Gul and Danish Kaneria finished off the contest in style when the fast bowler scored 13 not out and the leggie clubbed a four and a six in a five-ball 10 not out.
From Group A, Saiyed Paper Mills and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) have already qualified for the knock-out stage while the second semi-finalist from Group B behind Habib Bank Limited will be decided on Wednesday when Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) and Port Qasim Authority (PQA) will go head to head in the last league match on Wednesday.
