The Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Tehseen Anwar Shah presented his resignation before the Supreme Court during a hearing of the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam case on Wednesday.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary, with other members of the Supreme Court bench, resumed hearing of the NICL scam case.
During the hearing, Mr. Shah said that being the director general of FIA, he could not work under his subordinate FIA’s Additional Director General Capt (retd) Zafar Qureshi.
Responding to the resignation, Chief Justice Iftikhar said that Mr. Shah should render his resignation to the concerned authority and not before the court.
Moreover, Chief Justice Iftikhar reprimanded Director FIA Lahore Waqar Haider for creating hurdles in the way of implementing the court’s orders.

  1. This act by the DG FIA is nothing less than pulling down your pant's zipper and telling
the Apex Judiciary 'Fine I quit do what you want to?' The resignation should have been
presented to the Minister of Interior. Would he refuse a post as minister if one of his very junior subordinates becomes the Chief Minister of a Province. Only people with petty minds and no moral courage would refuse the orders of the Supreme Court.

  2. Dear Sir Actually the DG FIA didnt have any word to elaborate his work working on behalf of the Government, that has been directing him to not produce this scam, His resignation is fair and shows that he was answerless before the court. He should present his resignation to the Government directly, so "to nip the evil in the bird" is proved.
