Court orders FIR against CIA men for harassment

Additional District and Sessions Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti on Tuesday ordered the registration of a case against four officials of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on charges of harassing a woman, entering her house illegally and detaining her family members for more than three hours.
The court directed the Margalla SHO to register an FIR within 24 hours against Sub Inspector Malik Tahseen, Head Constable Ghulam Rasool and constables Barkat and Zulfiqar of the Crime Investigation Agency, Sector I-9.
In her application the victim alleged that seven unidentified persons who claimed to be CIA officials entered her house on June 26, 2011, without a search warrant and detained her and her family members, including her two children. They searched her house thoroughly, but no illegal thing was recovered, she said, adding that when they could not find any illegal object, they started threatening and harassing her.
The CIA officials confined her family members in one of the rooms, harassed them, used abusive language and detained them for more than an hour. She further alleged the CIA officials took away Rs 9,500, a gold locket, a mobile camera phone and a motorcycle from her house.
β€œOn July 28, I submitted an application to SSP Tahir Alam Khan who forwarded it to Saddar SP Capt Liaquat; the SP marked the application to Margallah SHO Arshad Abro who called me to his office on June 1, where all the four officials were already present,” she said. The SHO wanted the matter to be settled and was not interested in registering an FIR against the accused, she added.
The complainant said she had been unable to attend her office while her two minor sons could not attend school due to the harassment being caused to them by the CIA officials.
After hearing arguments, the court ordered the SHO to register an FIR against the four CIA officials and arrest them.
