The Lahore High Court (LHC) was gripped by panic on Tuesday after a phone call warned security staff about the presence of an explosives-laden vehicle inside the court premises, which later proved to be a hoax.
According to details, the LHC security staffer, a DSP, received a phone call at around 11.30am from a person who mentioned himself as Usman, a member of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He said that an explosive-laden vehicle would soon hit its target. The security officer immediately called the Bomb Disposal Squad, which reached the court and started a search operation. After searching every nook and corner of the premises, the squad cleared the area and declared it safe.
