The City School, in collaboration with Waste Busters, completed a four-day cleanliness campaign, ‘Let’s Bin It!’ on Monday, which was held to celebrate Independence Day from August 11 to 14.
The aim of the campaign was to create awareness among the general public about the menace of littering and inculcate a sense of civic ownership and responsibility. Y Block DHA, Fortress Stadium and the Mall of Lahore remained the focal point of the campaign.
Students encouraged the public to sign on a resolution, pledging to stop littering. Souvenirs such as litter bags, badges, car-stickers were distributed to people who signed on the resolution and joined the City Schools in this social responsibility initiative. The students also motivated and engaged the general public to act as responsible citizens and picked up ill-disposed litter from the areas they visited. Citizens encouraged the students saying that it was the best way to teach people about the importance of cleanliness, especially on roads. Singer Abrarul Haq also joined the campaign on the last day.
What an innovative way to celebrate Independence Day .Hats Off to The City School team for coming up with a much needed campaign and practically involving students and community in it .We need to spreadd this message and keep Pakistan clean and green.
