A quick solution for Rangers to stop violence in Karachi can be technology. If the Rangers personnel are equipped with GPS personnel tracking, secure communication and if they can get some air support in the form of helicopters, equipped with night vision and thermal sensing, any shooter can be quickly located via the helicopter, its thermal vision allowing it to view even behind obstacles. The helicopter can then coordinate the relevant Rangers team on the ground to the attacker’s location for a fully successful operation to capture him. This will also provide video evidence for the trial of the attackers. I am sure US, Germany, Japan, UK or China would be happy to help us as this technology is in regular use for their police force.
