The Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) organised a ceremony at its premises on Sunday to observe the 65th Independence Day of the country. Students of the university chanted the slogan of “Pakistan Zindabad” while waving the national flag. Aligarians also joined the dynamic students in making the annual festivity successful. The ceremony started with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Hamd and Naat.
SSUET acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Jawaid Hassan Rizvi hoisted the national flag and paid rich tribute to the founding fathers for their epic struggle for democracy and independence. Emphasising the importance of character building, he told the students, “You are the true ambassadors of Pakistan and the nation is proud of you.” The main highlight of the ceremony was a cultural programme.
Students delivered speeches on the Independence Day and enthralled the audience with national and motivational songs. At the end of the ceremony, noted naat khawan Mahmood ul Hassan Ashrafi prayed for the progress, solidarity, stability and prosperity of the country.
