The district courts on Monday extended four-day physical remand of the employees and students of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) for leaking the questionnaire of entry test for engineering. Duty Judge Usman Ali Awan extended the physical remand of Muhammad Riaz, Ibad Ali, Amin Nawaz and Waqar and handed them over to police with the direction to produce them on August 19. As the accused were produced, the police requested the court to extend their physical remand for seven days on the plea that they wanted to investigate them further.
However, the court extended their remand for four days only. Police said students gave Rs 50,000 to the university officials for leaking the papers and they wanted to sell the test papers to other students as well. The other accused in the case are still at large while the police are raiding various areas for thier arrest. They revealed that the university departmental enquiry had also declared them guilty.
