Pharmacists’ plight

This is apropos of recent news wherein nurses were offered various incentives and offered training programme abroad by Punjab Health Department. I am astonished why pharmacists are deliberately ignored. They are the most ignored creatures by the government. The Punjab government is sending matriculate students abroad who have not yet started their practical life. Why can the pharmacists not be sent abroad for training in clinical pharmacy which is the need of the hour? Without proper training the pharmacists cannot play their effective role in curbing the misuse of medicines and ensuring the rational use of drugs.

Pakistan is the place where every person claims to be an expert in drugs resulting in a massive un-warranted use of medicines leading to various toxic effects and complications. Pharmacists must be imparted proper training. Would the Chief Minister Punjab pay any heed to this issue to ensure better drug delivery system in Punjab?
