Nawaz warns of perilous future

Seizing the prime opportunity offered by the nation’s 64th Independence Day, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) kick-started its informal election campaign on Sunday with an aggressive speech by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, who said the government had given nothing to the nation except disrespect and shame and if the rulers did not mend their ways, the coming time could prove to be “perilous.”
He said the government had blackened its own face as well as the face of democracy by unleashing its reign of corruption, plunder and bad governance on the country. In his first public address – amid tight security – in Lahore since being ‘elected’ president of his party, Nawaz took an oath in front of some 4,000 supporters gathered at the Hazoori Bagh Bara-dari similar to the one he took in 2008 to restore the judiciary, giving the impression that the countdown had begun.
In the oath-taking statement, he said: “I give my words that I will continue my efforts to protect the ideology of Pakistan. I will realise the dreams of the founder of Pakistan. I will fight against corruption, nepotism, injustice and extremism. I will uphold the supremacy of the judiciary and parliament. I will intensify the struggle to undo poverty, backwardness, and unemployment. I will defend national honour and will restore the basic fundamental rights of the people by ensuring equality. I will make sacrifices to protect democracy from army dictatorship.”
He said that PML-N had a track record of accomplishing what it pledged to do and the restoration of the judges was proof of that. “However, some people did not regard promises holy and termed them not sacred like the Quran and Hadith. But the nation rubbished such a mindset and did wonders by reinstating the judges,” he said. He said if the people decided as one nation to make their way, a new Pakistan could be created.
“The government plunged the nation into darkness but we will lighten it up. It spread corruption, but we will replace it with honesty. Destruction will be changed into construction. Employment will replace joblessness. We will create a new Pakistan that will be prosperous and developed,” said Nawaz.

  1. Nawaz Sharif did not say he will end illiteracy by making education compulsory, at least at primary level. He did not say he will reform bad governing systems that are still centuries old and colonial He did not say he will empower people at the grass root level. He talks in generalities like all other feudal politicians. We have SIX govt. levels: Fed, Prov, Divisional, District, Tehsil and Union council. All other advanced countries have only 3 levels of government: Fed, Prov and Municipal. When are we going to get a visionary leader?

  2. He got the judiciary restored only to "Thrash" them more mercilessly if he accidentally comes back to power. I really feel sorry and pity on these people who come to hear the sermons of the most corrupt politicians (almost all) some from nearby and others are paid listeners from surrounding villages who are later served with Roti Salan or Baryani i.e. "Tookar Kha Kay Jaana".

  3. Nawaz Sharif is poineer who started corruption in politics during Zia era. Shame on you "Trying to be Mr. Clean".

  4. Twice when Nawaz Sharif was in power, what did he do? Why didn't he take up the issues he's mentioning now to CREATE A NEW PAKISTAN; stop projecting yourself "Spotless."

  5. Had he heeded?

Had Nawaz Sharif heeded only one anonymous voice seemingly of poor person, he would not had been almost a lost case in political history of Pakistan. This ‘voice’ back home warned Nawaz Sharif consistently for his misplaced policies and statements ever since he formed part of Zardari vicious anti nation, anti poor Trap of ‘reconcialation, mumafti siyasat’ to loot, plunder state enterprises, corporations,PSML,PIA,Railways,Wapda,Ogdc,Petroluem industries,IPPS,Rental units, enslaving to IMF,drones,UK,USA etcetcetc ,perpetuating power onto his dynasty, accumulating billion of dollars, his blatantly political, partisan role on day to day basis becoming virtual king etc.Aside Nawaz Sharif, I always found this voice visionary which has mobilized nation to change and his ideas being imitated by many anchors, columnists, political leaders etc.I think such passionate, lone crusaders are the precious ornament of my nation who unrelentingly mobilize people against corruption,Zardari coalition cartel who under the pretext of reconciliation went ahead with loot, plunder, protecting target killings of thousands ,billion of dollars bathakhori by PPPZ,MQM,ANP -fully abetted by PPP-Z to put country in total anarchy, disintegration and now breaking Pakistan into many provinces.
It is also sad that by so far MLN and even Imran khan are ignorant of the pre poll rigging of two crore voters through Benzir Income Support Fund,Waseela huk etc on poor men expense etc.He had been also warning about MQM slave Karachi based TV channels, their anchors, newscasters, editorial staff inducted in every TV channel, mass dailies in Karachi,Lahore,Rawalopinddi, all over Pakistan to monitor each and every script, movement in media to tailor it to suit MQM and poisoning public opinion against those whom they choose even on day to basis by support of MQM fascists, target killing modus operandi yet pretending most innocent people on earth have made Pakistan hostage of their evil wishes to rule Pakistan and penetrate every where by making Zardari slave to their blackmailing practices .
Unfortunately in all arrogance Nawaz Sharif never cared for the most honest yet non political, on partisan, intensly pro Pakistan opinion to see this day where he is fast loosing his image .Even in some arrogance Imran Khan follows his suit and I would request him to please heed this anonymous voice immersed in the love of his people and Pakistan.
