Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Sunday took serious notice of the news that threats on Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) building in Lahore were fake and perhaps engineered. According to a press note, the interior minister ordered a JIT headed by the FIA additional director general to probe into this incident and asked them to submit a report within one week.
Moreover, Malik told reporters after attending a ceremony at the Islamabad Police Lines that effective measures taken by the government had helped control targeted killings in Karachi. Malik said further the Islamabad Police with the assistance of intelligence agencies had thwarted a terrorism plan in the federal capital on the Independence Day. He said 11 terrorists who were planning to attack various parts of the federal capital had been arrested.
Malik said the government would continue to fight terrorism and would completely root out this menace from Pakistan. The minister said further the ‘Zaliman’ (Taliban) must be condemned, adding that stern action would be taken against them.

  1. Come! Come Mr Malik being the Director and Producer of this episode. Your crew did
practice their part properly, prehaps a few 'crackers' exploding around the buildings in
the Capital Secretariat could have given you Mr Minister a face saving position. Which
also reminds me of the article in another English Daily where your Co-Chairperson claims that you follow his orders?
