Additional District and Sessions Judge Yaar Muhammad Gondal ordered the Golra SHO to submit an inquiry report within 48 hours regarding detention and molestation of a woman by a police official.
The victim on Monday filed an application under Section 22-A, seeking the court’s order to register an FIR against a police official. In her application, she alleged the police official, Muhammad Akhtar, was residing in front of her house in Meera Jaffar, Golra.
She contended that Akhtar was a pervert and there were many such complaints against him. She alleged that a month ago the police official stopped her in a street and held her hand, but she managed to escape. After that incident, Akhtar started to harass her on telephone and by SMS.
She further alleged that on July 24, 2011, when her husband was away, Akhtar along with three accomplices and two women forced an entry into her house and after torturing her aged father-in-law and sister-in-law, kidnapped her at gunpoint and shifted her to some unknown place where she was raped by him for seven days. Later, she managed to escape, the victim said.
On August 4, she submitted an application for registration of a case to the SSP who sent it to Golra SHO Qasim Niazi on August 6, but he took no action.
She said the Golra police were not registering the case in accordance with the application on the excuse that they did not have the application or its copy. She added that no action had been taken against the accused even after the lapse of 15 days, so had to move the court.
According to sources, the accused police official is posted at Ramna check post of Shalimar police station.
The judge ordered the Golra SHO on Monday to investigate the matter and submit an inquiry report within 48 hours.
