A case of contempt of court has been filed against Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Interior Minister Rehman Malik regarding reinstatement of former investigation officer, Hajj corruption case, Hussain Asghar.
The petitioner, Advocate Tariq Asad, has prayed that the PM did not want to reinstate former investigation officer Hussain Asghar because Hussain Asghar had investigated PM’s son, Abdul Qadir Gilani in connection with Hajj corruption case.
The petition said the endeavors were made to soil the entire Supreme Court investigations of Hajj Corruption case by terminating the services of an honest and zealous official, who had still not been reinstated, despite his reinstatement being ordered by the Supreme Court.
It added that after the grace period for reinstatement of the investigation officer, Hussain Asghar, the PM and interior minister had committed contempt of Court by not restoring his position.
