At least seven people were injured in a bomb explosion on Nowshehra Road in Charsadda on Monday morning. Police said some unknown miscreants had planted an improvised explosive devise (IED) on the main road outside a Tableeghi Markaz (preaching centre). The explosive went off with a big bang on Monday morning around 6am. Most of those injured were later discharged from hospitals. No group claimed responsibility for the attack. It was the third terrorist act in the same locality.
Around one dozen people had been killed in a suicide attack on a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl rally in the first bombing, while in another a private FM radio station was the target. Meanwhile, in another incident, some unidentified militants bombed the gate of girls’ college in Karnal Sher Town of District Swabi. The explosion, which took place at 5:00am, badly damaged the building and destroyed the college bus. No causality was reported since the college was closed because of summer holidays.
