Asad wins Independence Day cycling race

Asad Mahmood of Army won the Independence Day of Pakistan Lahore-Kasur Road Cycle Race here the other day. The Punjab Cycling Association organised the race under the auspices of Punjab Olympic Association in collaboration with District Sports Kasur. Asad Mahmood covered the distance of 50 kilomters in 1 hour 20 mints and 23 second. In this race, about 150 cyclists from Army, Wapda, Punjab and others districts of Punjab took part. The race started at 7.00 a.m. from Punjab Stadium Lahore and Ch. Kamran Amin, President Punjab Cycling Association, was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. DCO Kasur Syed Arshad Hussain Shah was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. The organising secretary of this mega race was Sardar Nazakat Ali while the chief judge was Mr. Qasir Siddiq Bhatti.
