Aziz Bhatti SHO Chaudhry Irshad was suspended by SSP East Ahsan Umar on Saturday for offering taraveeh while violence engulfed his jurisdiction on Friday night. However, the suspended SHO denies that there was any trouble in the area while he was fulfilling his religious obligation.
The city was gripped by violence as nationalist parties had called for a strike on Saturday against the revival of the local government system of 2001.
A bus was set ablaze near Nipa Chowrangi and traffic was suspended.
The suspended SHO told Pakistan Today that he was offering prayers at Masjid-e-Faran, situated a few yards away from his police station opposite to the Mashriq Centre when some unidentified men torched a bus at Nipa Chowrangi.
He claimed that the incident took place in the jurisdiction of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station, but for some reason, he was suspended.
“When I approached the SSP East’s office to ascertain the reason behind my suspension, the staff there said that Sahib was calling me up following the Nipa Chowrangi arson, but I did not receive his call,” he said.
“The SSP East staff told me Sahib became angry when the Gulshan-e-Iqbal SHO also did not respond to his call and directed us to issue suspension orders of both of us,” he added.
Although the bus was set on fire in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police limits, the Aziz Bhatti police lodged FIR No 501/11 under sections 337, 435/34 against the arsonists.

  1. It was a bogus story as the SHO Aziz Bhatti was suspended following his patronage to the ANP activists who had not taken any action against the armed persons who few days back seriously injured three persons including Master Chief of Pakistan Navy Fattah Soomro…

Make sure that you are not promoting the criminals….
