The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) must reconsider its stance on the two administrative systems in Sindh seriously for the sake of Mohajirs rather than Sindhis, Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara said on Saturday.
He was addressing a press conference after meeting with an MQM delegation including Babur Ghauri, Adil Siddiqui, Raza Haroon and Waseem Aftab at the Kingri House.
Pagara told journalists that the MQM delegation had come to invite him for iftar and he ha accepted their invitation while asking them to arrange ‘special jalebi’ for him.
“I told the MQM that they must be serious on the issue of nazims and the commissionerate system. [The matter] should be resolved with sincerity and silently because if it is not, it might result in more bloodshed. We want to resolve all issues through dialogues and not quarrels,” said the PML-F chief.
Pagara further said that it was he has been long demanding that Karachi should be made the capital of Pakistan once again.
Speaking on the occasion, MQM leader Babar Ghauri said that the demand for separate province [for Mohajirs] was not made by the MQM as “we do not want to divide Sindh”.
“We do not have anything to do with the wall chalking in Karachi regarding Mohajir province,” he said.
The MQM leader also said that the party will consider the suggestions of PML-F chief. “We will consider on the advice of Pir Pagara with seriousness,” Ghauri said.
