Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, currently on a visit to Turkey on the invitation of her Turkish counterpart Prof Dr Ahmet Davutoglu, separately met Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday. Hina praised Turkey’s positive role in the Middle East, saying both countries could be pillars of strength in the region. Expressing satisfaction over the level of growing economic ties, President Gul said Turkish leadership was encouraging local businessmen to enhance investment in Pakistan, especially in the energy sector. In her meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Hina conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on AK Party’s landslide victory in the recent general election in Turkey.
