WAPDA’s negligence kills a man

A man was electrocuted while two were injured in different incidents on Friday. According to details, Rehmat Ali, 80, a resident of Bhagatpura, was electrocuted in the Misri Shah Police precincts on Friday. The deceased was a cart pusher and was passing by the Pak Model School when he received electric shocks. Locals called WAPDA officials to stop the electricity supply of the area but the department took no action and Rehmat died. Later, the locals staged a protest in Sultanpura against the negligence of WAPDA officials.
ROBBERIES: Two men were injured on resisting robbery in two different incidents on Friday. In the first incident, Farooq, 25, received bullet injuries in the Misri Shah Police precincts as he resisted. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be stable. In another incident, a 28-year-old man was stopped by two robbers on Raiwind Road. The perpetrators opened fire on the victim as he refused to give them money. As a result, he received serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
MAN DEAD: An unidentified 60-year-old man was found dead in the Kotlakh Pat Police precincts on Friday. Locals said the deceased was walking by when he suddenly fell unconscious and died instantly. Locals informed the police who moved the body to city morgue for autopsy.
FIRE: A fire broke out in a sports store in the Shah Alam Market on Friday reducing valuables worth thousands of rupees to ashes. Firefighters reached the spot instantly and extinguished the fire. Police said the fire was caused by short circuiting, however no injuries were reported.
