A 20-year-old Pakistani national has been arrested at Mahavir Nagar in West Delhi for allegedly staying without valid travel documents.
Following a tip-off, a Tilak Nagar police team mounted a raid at the house on Wednesday around 3 p.m. and arrested a young man. He was later identified as Naimat Ullah (alias Shamsher Khan), reported The Hindu.
Initially, Naimat told police that he was from Kandahar in Afghanistan and his father Taj Mohammad was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue of Intelligence in 2010 in connection with a drug-peddling case in Amritsar.
On sustained interrogation, Naimat purportedly told the police that he belonged to Quetta and his father is Khan Mohammad. He further told police that he came to Delhi two years ago on an Afghanistan passport on 30-day business visa. He along with his father was involved in drug-peddling and his passport was seized by DRI officials. His father is presently lodged in Tihar Central Jail.
