Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif succeeded on Thursday in sorting out differences with alienated National Assembly Opposition Leader Nisar Ali Khan, who is now likely to address a press conference on Saturday to rebut reports of differences with the Sharifs. Nawaz visited the senior PML-N leader at his residence in a bid to reconcile with him on Thursday.
Sources in the PML-N claimed that the meeting between the two estranged party giants proved fruitful in resolving their differences, which had steadily developed over the Sharifs’ closeness to Nisar’s political rivals. Nawaz sought to pacify Nisar’s anger towards the party’s top command for its growing relations with a certain real estate tycoon. Since his return from London last Monday, Nisar has so far not attended any sitting of the National Assembly’s ongoing session.
Nawaz inquired after Nisar’s health, who suffers from a chronic gastric ailment for which he underwent various advanced diagnostic procedures in his visit to the UK. A source in the party said Nawaz assured Nisar that his reservations regarding the Sharif family’s business relations with the real estate mogul and other matters related to the party’s reorganisation would be addressed.
