Mithi cadet college gets go ahead

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah approved setting up a cadet college at Mithi in Tharparkar district in a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s House on Thursday. Shah said the government has launched various schemes and projects in the province with emphasis on imparting technical and professional education to youth, as education is essential for the progress and prosperity of the country.
It was informed at the meeting that the Education and Literacy Department will sponsor the scheme. Spreading over an area of 183 acres, the cadet college in Mithi will be established at an estimated cost of Rs 60 million and will be completed within four years. Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Senior Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq said the USAID has approved the project of establishment of 2,500 high schools in the Sindh province, for which an amount of $40 million has been approved. He said that 50 schools would be established in each district of the province.
