GCU awards two PhDs in physics

The Government College University (GCU) Lahore has awarded PhDs to two professors in physics. Naveed Aslam completed his research on “Evaluation and Standardisation of Cross Section and Yield Data for non-conventional Positron Emitters” under the supervision of GCU Physics Department Chairman Dr Hassan Amir Shah while Usman Hashmi completed his thesis on “Structural and In-Vitor Characterisation of Bioactive Glass Ceramics with Different CaO/MgO Ratios” under supervision of Dr Ahmed Shamim. Separately, the GCU on Thursday opened admissions to intermediate first year for students who have passed O Levels/equivalent examinations. GCU Registrar Anjum Nisar said that admissions would remain open until August 17.
