APC seeks government support

Leaders of various political and religious parties have demanded the government to support the UN resolution tabled in the General Assembly for an independent Palestinian State and announce support for the Global March towards Jerusalem in March 2012.
This was demanded at the All Parties Conference (APC) titled ‘Defence of Palestine is Defence of Pakistan’ organised by the Palestine Foundation (PLF) Pakistan at a local hotel.
They said that all the political and religious forces of the country were united against Israel and will not allow the US and Israel to succeed in their conspiracies against Pakistan and Palestine.
The video messages of former British Member of Parliament George Galloway and Al-Quds Institute Beirut President Saud Abu Mahfouz were played at the conference. The address by India-based GMJ Chairman Feroze Mithiborwala was also presented.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader Allama Nasir Abbas said the Israeli regime’s efforts to bulldoze Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic monuments in Jerusalem would not be allowed.
Al-Quds Institute President in his video message said the Palestinians look to the support of Pakistani government because “[Pakistanis] can best understand the meaning of oppression and tyranny of occupation in our land, against our holy places, our identity and our people.” He appealed to the Pakistani nation ‘to let Jerusalem be its priority and practice profound jihad to liberate Jerusalem either culturally, socially, politically or any means.’ The leaders at the conference vowed that all the political, religious and civil forces were united in the support of Palestinian people. The speakers condemned the brutalities and urged the international community and the UN to intervene against the genocide of Palestinians.
In the adopted resolutions, speakers of the conference demanded the UN to arrange the return of Palestinian migrants to their homeland.
