Nationalists, ANP on same page?

A delegation of Sindhi nationalists, led by Syed Jalal Muhammad Shah, called on Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh President Shahi Syed at the Mardan House on Wednesday to discuss the current political situation of the province. The delegation comprising Ali Baba, Shah Muhammad Shah, Harif Chandio and Qamar Rajpar among others also requested the ANP to support the province-wide strike call given by nationalist parties for August 13.
According to ANP Sindh spokesman Qadir Khan, Syed informed the delegation said that the ANP has always been supportive of the struggle of Sindhi nationalists for the rights of their people. “We will continue to support those struggling for the rights of the poor people. The ANP coordination committee will decide about supporting the peaceful strike,” he said. “The ANP will keep working on eliminating bifurcation of Sindh into urban and rural units. “The ANP believes that the commissionerate system and local bodies system of 1979 were for the benefit of people of Sindh and will continue to support it.” Separately, a National Peoples Party (NPP) delegation comprising Dr Ibrahim Jatoi, Naimur Rehman and others also met Syed to discuss matters pertaining to the current political situation of the province.
