The day of 14 August might seem just an Independence Day to some, but the reality behind this day was far much bigger. A day when one out of two ideological states was formed on the face of this earth.
Pakistan was not merely a piece of land our forefathers were striving for. Rather it was a belief. It was an ideology. An ideology that “Pakistan means there is no God but Allah and sovereignty belongs to Allah only.”
Our forefathers believed that Pakistan would be a place where Islam would dominate. Little did they know about the betrayal done to them. Democracy was gifted to them in a beautiful wrapping of Islam.
An independent country was formed but the ideology implemented was capitalism not Islam. A system was given in which the capitalists are enjoying sovereignty and freedom in true essence. Freedom of speech, freedom of possession and freedom above law. It is time when we must realise that only Islamic system can solve all our problems. Justice, prosperity and peace can only be attained when Islam is implemented in totality.
