The Indian Home Minister Mr Chidambaram has admitted that the Pune and Mumbai blasts had been carried out by none other than the ‘homegrown modules’. All indicators inexorably point towards and confirm the fact that the Hindu terror groups had hitherto been dealt with softly by the Indian authorities. Similar accusations have been leveled by the Indian opposition that blame the centre for such irresponsible and fallible behavior.
This clearly confirms that the terrorism that ails India and has become a major source of disconnect between Pakistan and India is primarily of its own making, stemming and breeding from within its own soil.
It must be noted, however, that history is replete with examples of monsters that most powerful nations have nurtured to damage others that have ultimately reversed to challenge the authority of their creators.
This can be exemplified by the classic case of the Mujahideen that were once considered very close to the Americans while they served their purpose against the Soviet forces. A total abandonment by the US had compelled them to sink into a protracted oblivion that has become instrumental in redirecting their targets to cause damage to the superpower.
India, therefore, needs to revise its polices to curb the Sanghi Frankenstein that had been nurtured to control and target the minorities is now threatening its entire national security environment and bringing ignominy to the state.
