Peace between Pakistan, India indispensable: Hina

Calling peace, security and prosperity in South Asia indespensible, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Tuesday said her recent visit to India was extremely successful and it would help both countries have an uninterrupted and uninterruptible dialogue.
Briefing the National Assembly about her recent visit to India, Hina said, “Pakistan and India have talked to each other many times in the past and whenever the talks gained momentum, they were interrupted by an untoward incident and ‘uninterrupted and uninterruptible’ dialogue means that we want meaningful and result-oriented dialogue and for that both the sides need to ensure conducive environment.” She said both the sides had expressed satisfaction over resumption of dialogue between the two countries and assured full cooperation for good ties between Pakistan and India.
She said Pakistan always sought good neighbourly relations with all its neighbours, including India.
“When we look into policies vis a vis Afghanistan and India, we want to build a new relationship and a new era of cooperation with each other. We want to build trust,” the foreign minister said. She said she had informed the Indian side during her visit that Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani had taken all political parties, whether they were in or out of parliament, into confidence over the resumption of Pak-India dialogue. “He (the Indian foreign minister) got a message from Pakistan that we are serious in engaging with India. It is our desire and in our national interest to have dialogue with India in a meaningful way,” Hina said.She also told the National Assembly that eight issues were discussed with India during the visit.
