Pak Army’s Promotion Board, headed by Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, gave a go-ahead to the promotion of 19 brigadiers to the position of major generals on Wednesday.
According to a private television channel, the board meeting held at Pak Army’s headquarters here, lasted through the night towards sehri. The board taking stock of the competence of over 100 brigadiers, decided to promote 19 officers to the next level.
Those who were allowed the promotion include Brig. Omar Durrani, Ahmed Mehmood, Tariq Masud, Tahir Javed, Nazar Butt, Mazhar Saleem, Mu hammed Jaffer, Najmul Hasan, Ghulam Qamar, Ali Abbas, Amir Riaz, Abid Rafeeq, Asif Khatak, Jameel Rehmat, Saleem Raza, Malik Abbas, Syed Badshah Hussain, Shahab Naqvi and M. Junaid.
