CIE announces results today

Students are high on anticipation as the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) will announce the Ordinary and Advanced Level results worldwide today (Thursday). The examinations were held in May and June for which the results would be announced on CIE’s website https://direct.cie.org.uk/ early today. Private candidates would use the username and password sent to them with their statement of entry to check the results whereas regular candidates would get the results directly from their respective schools. Ceremony to honour the position holders would be held later.
According to the British Council, Ordinary Level is the standard UK qualification usually completed at the age of fifteen or sixteen. It provides a foundation for further education or employment. A wide range of subjects is offered at the Ordinary Level and students can pick any combination they like. A* grade is given on securing 90 percent or more marks whereas A, B, C, D, E and F grades are given on 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30 and 20 percent respectively.
Students awaiting results are posting interesting comments on social networking websites. Some posts show hope and others express panic and worry regarding the results. “I wish I was a nerd :(,“ posted Muhammad Ayyub on Facebook. Another student Farah commented: “It is scarier than the scariest movie I have ever watched”.
Pakistani students have always excelled in the CIE with numerous world tops and distinctions every year. An O-Level teacher said she was hopeful that Pakistani students would bring laurels to the country by securing good grades.
The mother of an O-Level student said she would organise a grand party if her son secured six As. Many students have already arranged Iftaar parties and get-togethers to celebrate the results.
