The Health Department, in consultation with the Law and Regulations Departments, would sort out a legal solution acceptable to and accommodating all stakeholders for the regularisation of doctors, Health Secretary Jehanzaib Khan said on Monday.
According to a press statement issued by the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Equity Chapter, Khan expressed the views in a meeting with a representative delegation of the Medical Teachers Association, PMA Equity Chapter Senior Registrar Joint Action Committee and representatives of the Young Postgraduate Doctors.
The delegation was briefed on a number of controversial summaries and the manner in which the proposed promotion formulas would likely affect the medical profession in the long run. The secretary assured that he would voice the demands of doctors and young post graduates on all platforms. He was hopeful of finding comprehensive, just and merit-based solutions acceptable to all the stakeholders, the statement added. The meeting was attended by special Health Secretary Waseem Mukhtar, Dr Tehseen Riaz, Dr Muhammad Abdul Rauf, Dr Muhammad Javed, Dr Hamid Awan, Dr Naseem, Dr Nabeela, Dr Farah and other representatives of the Young Postgraduate Doctors.
