PML-Q Provincial President Amir Muqam on Tuesday said the army should be called to tackle the situation in Karachi as political parties had failed to control the violence.
Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, Muqam said any party including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) could not handle the law and order crisis in Karachi. “A large number of innocent people have been killed as terrorism has hit streets of the metropolis,” he said, adding that the current killings were condemnable. Bloodshed should reach an end now, he said. “I belong to a militancy-hit area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and have personally faced suicide attacks and blasts. The situation in Swat was controlled only when people supported the army to conduct an operation,”he said.
