AJK PM announces housing colonies for Kashmiri settlers

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Chaudhary Abdul Majeed announced plans on Tuesday to establish housing colonies and provide employment to Kashmiri migrants living in Pakistan.
During his first public appearance at a reception hosted by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and candidate for AJK Legislative Assembly Ghulam Mohiyuddin Deewan in Lahore, Majeed said he would establish special residential colonies throughout the country for the AJK refugees settled in Pakistan. The AJK PM claimed that the energy crisis in Pakistan could be overcome in the next four years if Pakistani entrepreneurs invested in the AJK and took up new hydel power projects. He also highlighted the importance of the tourism industry and said if developed properly, the AJK had the potential to attract billions of rupees in revenue through tourism. To encourage investors from Pakistan, Majeed said the AJK government would provide special incentives.
