In an emergency meeting chaired by Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Administrator Brigadier Aslam Rana, two relief centres were established on Saturday to help internally displaced people (IDP) of FATA in DHA on orders of Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rashid Mehmood and the DHA president. The relief camps have been set up at Masjid Chowk Phase-1 and opposite Beaconhouse School, W Block Phase–3. DHA spokesman Tajammal Hussain Anjum briefed journalists about the relief package for the displaced families of FATA and the general public was asked to donate household items for the IDPs. Plastic boxes have been installed at all DHA mosques where people could drop donations in shape of rupees. Rs 10,000 would be required for settlement of one house unit. The DHA spokesman said that food/perishable items and clothing would not be received at the centres.
