Police arrest seven, seize drugs and arms

The city police on Sunday claimed to have arrested seven people, including a woman, for their alleged involvement in bootlegging, drug pushing and theft. A spokesman for the Islamabad police said that 10 bottles of liquor, a small quantity of heroin, three pistols and other stolen items worth Rs 200,000 were recovered from the accused. He added the accused were arrested in various strikes. According to the spokesman, an ASI of Bhara Kahu Police Station arrested Aashir Maseeh for having 10 bottles of liquor.
Sub Inspector Muhammad Azam of CIA police recovered a Kalashnikov from Vikram Maseeh. Meanwhile, ASI Asim Ghaffar of Nilore police arrested Shafaqat for having two a 30-bore pistol and 40 rounds. Sub Inspector Haider Ali from Sabzi Mandi police nabbed Khadim Maseeh for having 610 grams of hashish, Sub Inspector Ameer Umar from Golra police apprehended Hassan Zareen for possessing 525 grams of heroin and ASI Murtaza Qamar from Shalimar police nabbed Faryad and recovered stolen property worth Rs 200,000 from him. The spokesman said that FIRs had been registered against the arrested accused and further investigations were under way.
